One of Our Own Bradie Tennell, At The Olympics

Bradie Tennell At The Olympics

If you are watching the Winter Olympics this year, keep an eye out for one of our very own, Bradie Tennell. Bradie, 20, currently a senior at American High School, is a competitive figure skater who made her Olympic debut this past month in the women’s short program of the Team Event. If you missed this spectacular event, the United States team took home the Bronze medal in the team event.

Bradie’s 2018 Olympic appearance is the culmination of a lot of hard work.

Bradie started skating competitively at an early age, and by the time she was 15 in 2013, she had already won the novice bronze medal at the U.S. Championships. Over the next several years, Bradie would compete at many high-level events winning the junior gold medal at the 2015 U.S. Championships before being diagnosed with a stress fracture in May 2015. Bradie pushed through, and after wearing a brace the entire summer, she was ready to come back. Bradie competed in many more high-level competitions throughout 2016 and 2017 earning the highest score a U.S. ladies figure skater earned during the Grand Prix season. After winning the 2018 U.S. Figure Skating Championship, Bradie was then selected to represent the United States in Pyeongchang.
