At American High School, we are constantly looking for ways to improve our ability to support your student. As part of this, we are now using formative testing through USA Test Prep. Our teachers will be able to use the results of these tests to provide your student with unique support to meet their needs. As your student takes these tests throughout the school year, we will be able to gauge your student’s growth and progress and make adjustments to keep them learning and growing at their best. American High School continually strives for educational excellence. We are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI), an accreditation division of AdvancED, and registered with College Board (SAT/ACT/PSAT), whose mission is to connect students to college success.
American High School new student orientation is required for all students. This provides the student and parent with the base knowledge needed to understand what is expected of the student and how to navigate through the courses while enrolled. The PowerPoint presentation that was used for the orientation is available for student and parent review.
American High School has partnered with EchoSign to provide online, secure delivery of your student’s enrollment documents. This service will allow you to avoid printing, copying mailing and faxing sensitive information to American High School. NOTE: Parents will receive an email from American High School via EchoSign. Please do not disregard this message. Enrollment Documents must be received within 30 days of enrollment or the student’s access may be disabled.
Communication between American High School teachers and students takes place primarily through the Message Center in the Learning Management System. You received instruction on how to use this function in your New Student Orientation. If you have any hesitation or confusion about how to send a message, talk to your counselor about scheduling another Orientation.
When sending a message to a teacher, it is very important to include enough specific information for your teacher to help you. If you do not follow these instructions, your teacher may not be able to help you within the normal 24-hour window. They will send you back a message asking you to clarify and include the information below, which you can do the first time. Not being specific in your messages will cause a delay in being able to get the help you are requesting.
